Hole.io is a short-session multiplayer game where you control a moving black hole inside a city map. Your goal is simple. Become larger than other players before the timer ends.
You start very small. At first, you can only absorb light objects such as cones, benches, and signs. Every object increases your size slightly. Size controls everything. If an object or another player is larger than you, you cannot absorb it and will be destroy instead.
Matches usually last a few minutes. There is no progression between rounds. Skill matters more than grind.

Movement is the only core mechanic. You move using WASD, arrow keys, or the mouse. There are no attacks, abilities, or upgrades.
The real loop looks like this:
First 30 seconds: stay in dense areas with many small objects
Mid-game: switch to cars, trees, and walls
Late game: hunt smaller players or avoid the largest one
The leaderboard updates in real time. It tells you who can instantly absorb you.
Maps are compact. Most playable areas are under 500 metres across. Encounters happen fast. Mistakes end rounds quickly.
Many players fail early for the same reasons:
Chasing other players too soon
Ignoring the leaderboard
Moving randomly instead of clearing zones
Entering areas dominated by larger holes
Avoiding one bad decision often matters more than making aggressive moves.
Is Hole.io pay-to-win?
No. All players have the same tools.
Can you play solo?
Most modes are multiplayer. Bots fill empty slots.
Does size affect speed?
Yes. Larger holes move more slowly and turn wider.
